Happy New Year!
2020 was a tumultuous year to say the least!
However, that’s in the past and we get the opportunity to start off fresh in a brand new year, 2021.
For many people, 2020 was a terrible year and they just want to forget that it happened and move on to 2021.
However, for me personally, there were some great things that happened in 2020 as well.
For starters, I received a promotion on my job and got to move from a position that I absolutely hated to a position that I truly enjoy.
The added bonus to that is due to the global pandemic, I got to work that new position from the comfort of my own home.
No longer did I have to travel 2 and 1/2 hours each day to work spending money on commuting costs and eating out.
The global pandemic also offered me the opportunity to start my very own podcast in 2020 teaching people about the importance of being a good steward.
As stewardship is mostly taught from a financial perspective, my podcast allowed me the opportunity to expand on the concept and teach it from a more holistic perspective.
I also married the love of my life in 2020!
So while I had my share of loss in 2020, I’m not going to completely disregard the year as a lost year. There were many blessings that I experienced this year as well.
However, the reason why I believed I experienced many of these benefits isn’t because of luck and happenstance.
I believe I experienced many of these benefits due to the DECISIONS that I made leading up to 2020.
These decisions were the seeds that I planted, which cumulated in the harvest that I was able to reap in the year 2020.
Now if 2020 wasn’t a good year for you at all, that’s totally ok.
The global pandemic impacted each of us differently based on our unique circumstances.
For some, it was a mild inconvenience, which consisted of working from home with no cut to their income and wearing a mask when going out.
For others it was a nightmare, losing the most important person or people in their entire life.
Most of us are somewhere in between those two extremes.
So what I would like to do as we begin 2021 is peel back the curtain so to speak.
I want to show you some of the seeds that I planted prior to 2020 that allowed me to reap the harvest that I was able to reap in 2020.
I also want to show you some of the seeds that I am planting in 2021 that I believe will allow me to reap a harvest in 2021 and beyond.
Finally, I want to help you begin to plant your own seeds in 2021 so that you too can reap a harvest in 2021 and beyond.
This year in 15 days, if the Lord allows me to, I will turn 42 years of age.
This means based on the average life expectancy of a US male, I am already in the second half of my life.
I don’t have time to waste!
My goal is that before I leave this world, I want to leave an inheritance to all those who are here with me.
And all those who will come after me.
The podcast and the blog that I have built here at The10Talents is my inheritance.
It is my gift to each and every one of you who listen to it or read it.
The second half of my life, by the grace of God will be far better than the first half of my life because I am making decisions and taking the action that is necessary to make it better.
I hope that you will be able to say the same thing as well and my goal is through this podcast and through this blog that I can help you to be able to say the same.
So over the next few days of this blog and podcast, I’m going to take a deep dive into what I did to reap the harvest that I reaped in 2020.
I invite you to join me in this journey!
